The Journal for Interdisciplinary Gender studies ceased operation at the end of 2006.
The Journal of Interdisciplinary Gender Studies (ISSN 1325-1848) is an internationally refereed journal published twice yearly by the University of Newcastle, NSW, Australia.
The journal publishes papers on topics across a wide range of academic disciplines that raise gender issues in historical and contemporary contexts. The journal welcomes scholarly papers located within a single discipline, interdisciplinary or multidisciplinary papers, and papers that challenge disciplinary boundaries or take gender studies into new territories.
The journal seeks to publish the work of new and emerging researchers alongside that of established scholars. All papers are double blind refereed and authors are provided with feedback from reader reports to assist in the further development of the scholarly work.
Papers are considered both for the originality of their contribution to knowledge in particular disciplines or interdisciplinary areas and for their capacity to make that contribution accessible to those with expertise in other fields.
The journal also publishes book reviews, review articles and book notes on recent scholarly publications in the field of gender studies.
