Social Interventions Research Group (SIRG)
The Social Interventions Research Group is compromised of social work academics within the School of Humanities and Social Sciences who work in partnership with researchers in other disciplines within the University and with external community and international organisations. recent and current collaborative partners include Relationships Australia, International Federation on Aging, UNICEF and Uniting Aged Care.
Social intervention research is research relating to the design, development and evaluation of social programs. Projects undertaken by the group seek to identify solutions on strategies to address social issues and/or impacts of social change in an effort to enhance policy and practice in the field of human services (including education, health and social welfare). Thus the Social Interventions Research Group (SIRG) aims to undertake research that contributes to the analysis, development and evaluation of intervention strategies in human services policy and practice.
