Language Across Academic Disciplines
Monday 15th of December.
The research group on Language & Society will be holding its first seminar on Monday 15th of December. The theme is Language Across Academic Disciplines and we will be exploring the way in which language is central, in one way or another, to all of the disciplines in the humanities.
The days activities will be a mix of presentations and open discussion. We have invited two academics from the University of Nottingham Trent in the UK to give papers. Professor Murray Pratt will be speaking on new approaches to area studies and Dr Neill Hughes blended learning in the area of language teaching The aim of the seminar is to generate ideas that will serve as the basis for future group activities and research projects.
We would be interested in hearing from anyone with an interest in language and wishing to participate. For details contact Graham Squires at Graham.Squires@newcastle.edu.au
