The research culture in religious and intellectual traditions at the University of Newcastle is second to none in Australia and attracts research students form all over the world to take up studies with our members. Religion and Religious Studies scored 4* in the recent Excellence in Research for Australia (ERA) assessment, one of only four other universities in Australia to do so.
GRIT relies on the academic rigour and intellectual openness that the university context provides and employs wide range of intellectual approaches to achieve its aims. This intellectual breadth provides many opportunities for conversation between Classics, History, Philosophy, Religion and Theology, Sociology and Anthropology, Discipline Areas at the UoN.
