School Research Higher Degree Symposia

Each semester the School of Humanities and Social Science conducts a symposium for Research Higher Degree (RHD) candidates. This takes the form of presentations by RHD candidates during the first year of their full-time enrolment (or equivalent) as part of the confirmation process required by the University. In addition, continuing RHD candidates are welcome to hone their presentation skills and seek audience feedback on their work, by regularly presenting on their progress throughout their candidature.

The symposia provide a forum to showcase the wide range of fascinating postgraduate research projects in the Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences. Each symposium begins with a professional development seminar. This is followed by 3 concurrent streams of papers delivered by RHD candidates, with time for questions from the audience. Each symposium ends with a meeting of the Postgraduate Student Forum, which provides a conduit for communication between students and the School. The day concludes with a free symposium dinner at which a number of prizes and awards are presented.

All School staff, RHD candidates and honours students are invited to attend. Please RSVP via the link below.
