School Wellness Program

In the School of Humanities and Social Science, we aim to provide a work environment that is hospitable, collegial and supportive of staff and students. Our School Wellness Program addresses both the professional and personal needs of our academic and general staff through the following measures:

Professional development: Staff have access to fully-funded support for professional development activities and conference attendance

Free OHS mini-massages: The massages take place in staff offices at select times throughout the semester

Staff & RHD tea room facilities: Throughout this year we are aiming to improve tearoom facilities, furnishings and furniture in our various buildings

Art work project: In concert with the University Art Curator, we are installing new artworks in major public areas of our buildings

School social gatherings: Throughout the year we host a number of formal and informal social events, including:

  • RHD and supervisor dinners following the two RHD symposia held each year
  • An annual School Retreat in October 
  • The School Awards Ceremony held during graduations
  • An End of Year School celebration function
  • Quarterly School Update Forums that provide an informal way for staff, RHDs and conjoints to interact and discover School news of School events and achievements.
