  Awarded annually to the student with the highest result in FSHN1010 (Foods & Nutrition I) (Central Coast).

Biology

• Barry Boettcher Prize (Undergraduate) $100.00
  Awarded annually to the student achieving the best performance, if of sufficient merit, in First year Biology courses BIOL1001, BIOL1002, BIOL1003.
• Barry Boettcher Honours Prize (Undergraduate) $500.00
  Awarded annually to the student with the best academic record in an undergraduate course offered in the Department of Biological Sciences and who will graduate with First Class Honours.
• Don Angus Memorial Prize  (Undergraduate) $100.00
  Awarded annually to the student who achieves the highest mark in any three of the following courses, if of sufficient merit, in BIOL3310 Plant Cell and Molecular Biology, BIOL3090 Molecular Biology, BIOL3200 Cellular Biotechnology.
• Peter Hendry Prize in Biochemistry (Undergraduate) $200.00
  Awarded annually to the student with the best performance, if of sufficient merit, in BIOL2010, Biochemistry.

Chemistry

  Awarded to the full-time or part-time student with the best performance, if of sufficient merit, in level 3000 subjects in Inorganic Chemistry.
• Discipline of Chemistry Staff Prize in Level 2000 Chemistry (Undergraduate) $125.00
  Awarded annually to the student with the best performance in Level 2000 Chemistry, if of sufficient merit.
• Donald Peterson Prize (Undergraduate) $100.00
  Awarded annually to the student with the best performance, if of sufficient merit, in CHEM1010 and CHEM1020.
• John Morris Prize for Excellence in Chemistry  (Honours and Postgraduate) $500.00
  Awarded annually to the student with the best performance, if of sufficient merit completing research "Aimed at benefiting either society or the environment."
• R K Whiteley Prize in Surface Chemistry (Undergraduate) $250.00
  Awarded annually to the student with the best performance, if of sufficient merit in CHEM 3410.
• Royal Australian Chemical Institute Prize in Chemistry Honours (Undergraduate) $500.00 And one year free membership to RACI
  Awarded annually to a candidate for the Bachelor of Science (Honours) degree, undertaking Chemistry Honours, who achieves the best overall performance, if of sufficient merit.  (Donor has indicated that only first or upper second class honours recipients.
• Royal Australian Chemical Institute Prize in Level 3000 Chemistry (Undergraduate) $250.00
  Awarded annually to the student with the best performance, if of sufficient merit, in Level 3000 Chemistry subjects.

Earth Sciences (Geology)

• Beryl Nashar Prize in Level 1000 Earth Sciences (Undergraduate) $100.00
  Awarded annually to the student with the best performance in Level 1000 Earth Sciences.
• Beryl Nashar Prize in Level 2000 Earth Sciences (Undergraduate) $100.00
  Awarded annually to the student with the best performance in Level 2000 Earth Sciences.
• Edward John Phillips Memorial Prize (Undergraduate) $100.00
  Awarded annually to the student with the best performance, if of sufficient merit, in GEOS1040 & GEOS1050.
• Frank Stoddart Prize (Undergraduate) $100.00
  Awarded annually for the best performance, if of sufficient merit, in GEOS3150
• Geological Society of Australia (NSW Division) Prize in Third Year Geology (Undergraduate) Voucher to the value of $50 from Prospectors Supplies Pty Limited
  Awarded annually to a student enrolled in Earth Science Honours with the best performance, if of sufficient merit, in a minimum of four 3000 level Earth Sciences courses.
• Geological Solutions 2nd Year Geology Prize (Undergraduate) $250.00
  Awarded annually to the student with the best performance in 2nd year Earth Sciences studies.
• Geological Solutions 3rd Year Geology Prize (Undergraduate) $250.00
  Awarded annually to the student with the best performance in 2nd year Earth Sciences studies.
• Prospectors Earth Sciences Prize (Undergraduate) Geological hammer and a leather hammer holster
  Awarded annually to the student in Earth Sciences GEOS1050 who is deserving of encouragement.  The student must enrol in Earth Sciences Level 2000 in the following year.
• Robert Jeffrey Foote Memorial Prize (Undergraduate) $100.00
  Awarded annually to the student with the best performance, if of sufficient merit, in the course GEOS3280 as advised by the Academic Staff.

Environmental Science & Management

• Howard Bridgman prize for First-Year Environmental Science (Undergraduate) $100.00
  Awarded annually to the student with the best performance, if of sufficient merit in, First-year Environmental Science core courses. The student must be enrolled in the Environmental Science & Management degree program
• Newcastle Flora and Fauna Protection Society Prize (Undergraduate and Postgraduate) $280.00 (information leaflet)
  Awarded annually to the student enrolled at the University of Newcastle who submits the best research project or thesis, on an environmental topic relevant to nature conservation, if of sufficient merit.

Geography & Environmental Studies

• Discipline of Geography Honours Prize (Undergraduate) $100.00
  Awarded annually to the student with the best performance, if of sufficient merit, in Geography & Environmental Studies Honours or Development Studies Honours.
• P G Irwin Prize in Geography (Undergraduate) $100.00
  Awarded annually to the first year student who achieves the best performance, if of sufficient merit, in GEOG1030 and GEOG1020.
• W F Geyl Prize in Geography (Undergraduate) $100.00
  Awarded annually to the student with the best performance, if of sufficient merit, in all Level 3000 Geography courses.
