Earth Sciences
Postgraduate Research
Earth Science academic staff are actively involved in research in a number of areas and offer research supervision to Research Higher Degree (RHD) students who are enrolled in a PhD (Doctor of Philosophy). The focus of the research undertaken usually addresses a range of topics relating to the expertise of the Discipline's research groups and the interests of individual staff.
RHD students work closely with supervisors and are supported by a range of resources provided by the School and the Discipline. These resources may include financial Support Schemes including industry funding and a variety of University and Industry Scholarships.
Students interested in undertaking a research program leading to the award of a PhD should initially consult individual staff members to determine the variety of projects which may be available and if supervision is available . Information on each staff members' research interests is available on their web pages (including a link to their full Researcher Report), or via searching the University Research Expertise Database.
The Faculty website has a page with information specific to Research Students, including links to a range of relevant resources across the University.
