Contact Details: Staff Directory entry
Qualifications:
  • BSc(Hons)
  • PhD (Newcastle)
Research Areas:
  • Petrogenetic investigation of the coeval I- and A-type granitoids of the New England Batholith
  • Petrogenetic studies of S-type granite suites of the New England Batholith
  • Studies of the geochemical development of mafic enclaves in granites, and their contribution to granite geochemistry
  • Petrological and geochemical investigations of mantle derived magmas associated with I-type granites of the New England Batholith, in order to assess their contribution to both the variation within, and the differences between granitoid suites
  • Petrogenetic studies of contrasting granitoid suites, including the assessment of mantle versus crustal sources, and the role of hybridization
  • Studies on the emplacement mechanisms of granitoid plutons at varying crustal levels, with relevance to associated tectonic events
  • Use of radiometric dating studies (U-Pb zircon, Rb-Sr biotite) of granite batholiths to refine both the crystallization ages of individual suites and their cooling history, with particular emphasis on associated tectonic events
