Prizes Awarded in 2007
The School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science congratulates those undergraduate students, who have been awarded prizes for their efforts in 2007, on their outstanding achievements.
The prize recipients and the prizes that they have won are listed below.
Object Oriented Pty. Ltd. Object Technology Prize
The Object Oriented Pty. Ltd. Object Technology Prize has a prize value of $1500 and is awarded annually to the members of the student team with the best performance, if of sufficient merit, in the project of SENG3120 - Object Oriented Software Engineering.
The Institution of Engineering & Technology (IET) Prize
The Institution of Engineering & Technology Prize has a prize value of $400. Other benefits of this prize are a certificate and a two years membership of the IET. The prize is awarded annually to the student who in the penultimate year (or part time equivalent) of the Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical) program which is mutually accredited by Engineers Australia and the IET has achieved the best performance of sufficient merit.
The Engineers Australia Prize in Electrical Engineering
The Engineers Australia Prize in Electrical Engineering has a prize value of $200 and a certificate. The prize is awarded annually to the student with the best overall performance, if of sufficient merit, in the subjects comprising the full first year of the course program of the Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical Engineering).
The Engineers Australia Prize in Computer Engineering
The Engineers Australia Prize in Computer Engineering has a prize value of $200 and a certificate from Engineers Australia. The prize is awarded annually to the student with the best overall performance, if of sufficient merit, in the subjects comprising the full first year of the course program of the Bachelor of Engineering (Computer).
The Purdue Prize in Circuit Fundamentals
The Purdue Prize in Circuit Fundamentals has a prize value of $100 and is awarded annually to the student in the first year of the Bachelor of Engineering (Computer) who achieves the best performance in the subjects ELEC1300 Electrical Engineering 1 and ELEC1700 Computer Engineering 1, if of sufficient merit.
The Electric Energy Society Prize of Australia
The Electric Energy Society of Australia Prize has a prize value of $500. Other benefits of this prize are complementary membership of the Electric Energy Society ($70), complementary attendance to conference for one year ($220) and complementary bulletins for one year. The prize is awarded annually to the student enrolled in the third year (or part time equivalent) of the Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical) with the best overall performance, if of sufficient merit, in the courses ELEC3130 Electric Machines and Power Systems and ELEC3250 Power Electronics.
DSTO Surveillance Systems Division Undergraduate Prize
The DSTO Surveillance Systems Division Undergraduate Prize has a prize value of $300 and is awarded annually to a final year undergraduate student in Electrical, Computer or Telecommunications Engineering who submits the final year project judged to be of exceptional merit in an area of technology relevant to military surveillance systems.
Purdue Prize in Computer Engineering
The Purdue Prize in Computer Engineering has a prize value of $100 and is awarded annually to the student, enrolled as a candidate for the degree of Bachelor of Engineering specialising in the area of Computer Engineering who has submitted the best final year project, provided that the project is of sufficient merit.
