Politics
The study of Politics is provided on an inter-Faculty basis by the School of Economics, Politics & Tourism. It is possible for students to study Politics courses as part of a major or as an elective in a wide range of degree programs. The Politics courses offered by the School of Economics, Politics & Tourism are identified by the POLI prefix.
The course POLI3001 Organisation, Politics & Society is a capstone course in both the Bachelor of Business and Bachelor of Commerce. POLI courses are central to the majors "Politics and Policy" and "International Affairs" in the Bachelor of Arts and the major "Politics and Policy" in the Bachelor of Social Science, and are key courses in the Bachelor of Development Studies.
No prior knowledge is assumed for students enrolled in first-year Politics. You do not need to have studied Politics at school. The first year courses, "Introduction to Politics" and "Australian Politics and Government", are designed to provide you with the background necessary for further study in Politics (and other related areas of study).
