Student projects for 2010!

Our lab investigates the circuits within the brain that are involved in the regulation of mood and in particular how exposure to stress can cause depression.

Summer Scholarships

If you're a 2nd or 3rd year Biomedical Sciences student and your interested in the work we do - and would like some hands on research experience our than we have 2 summer scholarships available.  These positions are an excellent opportunity to learn a variety of techniques we routine use and to become a member of a very active research laboratory.  If you are interested in finding out more, contact us.

Honours projects

In 2010 we have a number of projects available for honours students.  These projects are ideally suited for students with an undergraduate degree in Psychology* or Biomedical Sciences.  Students, during their honours year will learn a huge variety of techniques ranging from behavioural testing to real time-PCR.   If you are interested in finding out more about our research, or in joining the lab as a student, email us.

*Due to the fact that the School of Biomedical Science and Pharmacy is in a different faculty to Psychology - students will have an internal supervisor.  Depending on the project this will be either Associate Professor Deborah Hodgson or Dr Karen Drysdale.
