| Teaching Interests: |
Extensive curricula design including lead role in 2 important programs at Newcastle: the Master of Information Technology in 1997, and the Bachelor of Information Technology in 2002. The former was novel for its incorporation of strands ranging from computer engineering through to electronic business taught across Faculties. The latter is groundbreaking in its use of problem based learning.
Teaching has covered a range of postgraduate and undergraduate courses including: digital technologies for media and entertainment; information systems strategy and evaluation; databases; health informatics.
|
| Supervision of Students: |
- Currently co-supervising 4 PhD students on topics: representation and consistency; technology adoption theories; web search as information consumption; information systems effectiveness and its relationship to marketing effectiveness
- Completed 1 Masters and 2 PhD students on topics: increasing effective information systems use in primary industry; evaluation of structures for visual information presentation; analysis of very large datasets
- Honours students' theses include information systems evaluation and decision support systems for classification.
