Summer Vacation Scholarships
These scholarships are available during the summer vacation period between November and February. The aim of summer vacation scholarships is to provide students with an opportunity to undertake supervised research in an area relevant to their program of study.

| Benefit: Scholarships are valued at $2000 each payable in a lump sum upfront payment of $1500 with the remaining $500 payment payable upon the receipt of a written statement of outcomes from the recipient and a recommendation from the Principal Supervisor that the project has been undertaken and completed. Recipients will be required to do an oral presentation or submit a written report of their research at the end of the project. | ||

This scholarship is available to support a program of supervised research relevant to the student's program of study in the Faculty of Science and Information Technology, University of Newcastle, during the period November 2012 to the end of the mid-semester break in Semester 1 2013. The scholarship holder is required to pursue a program of six (6) weeks of full-time research at either the Callaghan or Ourimbah campus, starting and ending during the period, under the supervision of a member of the academic staff of the Faculty. |
