Establishment

The objectives of the Commonwealth Scholarships (CS) Program are to facilitate choice in higher education for, and increase higher education participation by, students from low socio-economic backgrounds, in particular Indigenous students who have lived in a regional or remote area.

Applicable to: Commonwealth, Australian Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander, ATSI, Equity, Financial Disadvantage, Regional, Remote, Enabling, Undergraduate, Commencing, Continuing.

Benefit

This Scholarship provides a benefit of $4726.00 in 2015.

This scholarship is only available once to any eligible individual. Please do not apply if you have previously received this scholarship, either at University of Newcastle or another institution.

Selection

Selection is based on the information provided in the Equity Scholarship application and supporting documentation. Applications are ranked against the eligibility criteria and scholarship offers are made to applicants who best meet this criteria.

Academic merit may be considered.
