EstablishmentThe objectives of the Commonwealth Scholarships (CS) Program are to facilitate choice in higher education for, and increase higher education participation by, students from low socio-economic backgrounds, in particular Indigenous students who have lived in a regional or remote area.

  • A current Centrelink Income Statement or notice of eligibility for assistance, or a Financial Hardship Statement.
  • If applicable, evidence that you have relocated from a rural, regional, or remote area, for example utility bills, school documents etc.
Benefit

This Scholarship provides a total benefit of $2492 per annum, payable in instalments of $1246 after each semester census date.

This scholarship can be received for a maximum of eight semesters of study. Ongoing eligibility will need to be met each semester.

Selection

Selection of the scholar will be on the basis of eligibility criteria.

The following educational disadvantages may be assessed according to strictly defined criteria where supported by documentary evidence:

* Sole Parent or Carer responsibilities

* Long-term medical condition/disability or ongoing effects of abuse

* English language difficulty
