EstablishmentThis scholarship was established in 2014 to research, prototype and document possible new Challenge activities. This scholarship is available for up to two students to support research for a period of up to 12 weeks from July 2014. There may be an additional benefit if a 10 day extension is required in the October vacation period.

Applicable to: International, Domestic, Research, Science, Engineering.

Eligibility

To be eligible to apply for this scholarship you must meet the following criteria:

  • Be enrolled full-time or Be enrolled part-time
  • Be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or the holder of a Permanent Humanitarian Visa or Be an International Student
  • be able to commit one day a week for 12 weeks. If extended also be able to commit to 10 days fulltime during the October Vacation period.

Benefit

Up to two (2) scholarships are available providing a total benefit of $960.00 for one day's worth of activities every week for twelve (12) weeks. This amount is payable in fortnightly instalments. There is a possible extension, if needed, of up to 10 day's activities fulltime, during the October Vacation period. This extension would bring the rate pro-rata to a total of $1,760 if needed.

Selection

Selection shall be on the basis of:

  • Being well organised and able to work well unsupervised and in a team
  • Being reliable, creative and having well-developed research and communication skills.
  • Assessment of written statement.
  • Previous Science show or Science and Engineering Challenge experience highly regarded.
