Work Integrated Learning (WIL) is a key pillar in the University's New Directions Education Plan aimed at improving the career-readiness of students.

Across the university and disciplines WIL can be known as placement, practicum, clinical placement/practice, internship, work experience, fieldwork, industry experience, project-based learning, experiential learning, industry based-learning, problem-based learning, professional practice, to name just a few.

Grants to assist with meeting the costs of a WIL course component are available for students who are experiencing financial hardship.

In 2015, financial hardship grants for placement or Work Integrated Learning components will be considered via appointment with a Student Support Adviser. Please email to arrange an application.


To be eligible to apply for this scholarship you must meet the following criteria:

  • Be experiencing financial hardship related to a Work Integrated Learning Placement. This will be assessed during an appointment with a Student Support Adviser.

The value of the grant will be individually assessed and not exceed $2000.
