This scholarship is available to support a program of supervised research relevant to the student's program of study in the Faculty of Engineering and the Built Environment, University of Newcastle, during the period November 2016 to February 2017.

To apply for this scholarship, please nominate three (3) Research Topics in order of preference. The Engineering and Built Environment Research Topics are currently available here.

In addition, there are also four Information Technology research topics available:

  • Towards a feedback and auto-marking module for IT infrastructure projects, Rukshan Athauda,
  • Exploring Microsoft Azure for Virtual IT Infrastructure Laboratories, Rukshan Athauda,
  • Virtual Lab Interfaces for IT Infrastructure Labs, Rukshan Athauda,
  • Comparing Head Mounted Displays for Simulated Driving Tasks, Karen Blackmore.

Eligibility

To be eligible to apply for this scholarship you must meet the following criteria:

  • Applications are open to students within the Faculty of Engineering and Built Environment who are at Bachelor degree level or studying the Masters of Architecture.

Benefit

Approximately twenty (20) scholarships will be available. These scholarships are valued at $3000 each, payable in a lump sum payment at commencement of scholarship.

Selection

The scholarship holder is required to pursue a program of 8 weeks of full-time research, starting and ending during the period, in the Faculty under supervision of a member of academic staff.

Selection shall be based on academic merit. Selection shall be approved by the Pro Vice-Chancellor.
