Establishment

This scholarship is available to support a program of supervised research relevant to the student's program of study in the School of Biomedical Sciences and Pharmacy, University of Newcastle, during the period November 2013 to March 2014. Applicable to: Research, Vacation, Summer, Biomedical Science.

Eligibility

To be eligible to apply for this scholarship you must meet the following criteria:

• Be enrolled in the Bachelor of Biomedical Science program in the School of Biomedical Sciences & Pharmacy, The University of Newcastle

Benefit

Ten Scholarships are available valued at $1750 each, payable in fortnightly installments.

Selection

• The scholarship holder is required to pursue a program of 8 weeks of full-time research, starting and ending during the period, in the School under the supervision of a member of academic staff. The program must be approved by the Head of School.
• Selection of the scholar shall be based on academic merit and demonstrated interest in laboratory based projects.
• The applicant should include a project title and the name of an academic supervisor from the School of Biomedical Sciences & Pharmacy. Only one student per supervisor will be accepted.

Selection shall be approved on the recommendation of the Head of School. Successful students may be required to give a presentation on their project at the end of the period.
