EstablishmentThis scholarship is available to support a program of supervised research relevant to the student's program of study in the School of Medicine and Public Health, University of Newcastle, during the period November 2013 to March 2014.

The scholarship holder is required to pursue a program of eight (8) weeks of full-time research, starting and ending during the period, in the School under the supervision of a member of the academic staff.

Eligibility

To be eligible to apply for this scholarship you must meet the following criteria:

  • Be enrolled in Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Biotechnology, Bachelor of Medical Science or equivalent program
  • Be enrolling in an Honours program in Science, Biotechnology, Medical Science in 2014 or other advanced program of research in the MBRC approved by the Director MBRC
  • Be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or the holder of a Permanent Humanitarian Visa

Benefit

Three (3) scholarships are available valued at $2000 each, payable in fortnightly payments.

Selection
  • Selection shall be based on acceptance by faculty for Honours program in 2014 and must have at least a credit Grade Point Average (GPA) through undergraduate program.
  • Preference will be given to applicants showing a strong interest in research and reproductive science/biology.
  • Selection shall be approved on the recommendation of Head of Endocrinology/Director of the Mothers & Babies Research Centre.
