This Scholarship was established in 2012 to benefit a 1st year indigenous student of the Callaghan Campus of the University of Newcastle. The intention of this Scholarship is to assist a commencing student in the purchase of educational resources.

Eligibility

To be eligible to apply for this scholarship you must meet the following criteria:

  • Be enrolled in any program at the University of Newcastle, Callaghan Campus as a commencing student in their first undergraduate degree
  • Be an Australian Indigenous person
  • Be enrolled full-time.
  • Be the holder of a current Centrelink Low Income Health Care Card

Required Documentation

If this documentation is not provided your application will not be processed.

After you have submitted your application, please print off the cover sheet provided and attach a copy of each piece of required documentation to it before sending in.

  • A verified copy of your current Centrelink Low Income Health Care Card. (copy signed by a Justice of the Peace)

Benefit

One (1) Scholarship will be offered annually. The Scholarship provides a University Co-operative Bookshop voucher valued at $500.00.

Selection

Selection of the scholar will be on the basis of academic merit, namely Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR).
