EstablishmentIn 2011 local Freemasons from 8 separate Masonic Orders on the Central Coast funded the purchase of a sterilising unit for the University's Oral Health Mobile Van.

These local Freemasons would like to support students by providing textbook scholarships across the programs offered at the Central Coast Campus. These scholarships are intended to assist students who are in financial need, yet academically sound.

Applicable to: First year, 1st year, Ourimbah, Central Coast, Financially disadvantaged, high achievers, Nursing, Nurses, Oral Health, Podiatry, Science, Exercise and Sports Science, Food Science and Human Nutrition, Commerce, Teaching Primary, Arts, Teaching Secondary, Early Childhood Studies.


To be eligible to apply for this scholarship you must meet the following criteria:

  • Be enrolling in the 1st year of the following undergraduate programs at the University of Newcastle, Central Coast Campus: Bachelor of Nursing, Bachelor of Oral Health, Bachelor of Podiatry, Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Exercise and Sports Science, Bachelor of Food Science and Human Nutrition, Bachelor of Commerce, Bachelor of Teaching Primary / Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Teaching (Secondary) / Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Teaching (Primary) / Bachelor of Early Childhood Studies
  • Be an Australian Citizen or Be a Permanent Resident
  • Be enrolled full-time.
  • Hold a current Centrelink Low Income Health Care Card (HCC).

  • A verified copy of your current Centrelink Low Income Health Care Card (copy signed by a Justice of the Peace).

Ten (10) scholarships will be offered annually. The scholarship provides a University Co-operative Bookshop voucher valued at $500.


Selection of the scholar will be on the basis of academic merit, namely Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) or equivalent.
