Valmai Avery Scholarship in Classics

Establishment

This scholarship was established in 2010 by Valmai Avery, who was awarded BA (Hons) in Classical Studies by the University of Newcastle in 1997.

Eligibility

To be eligible to apply for this scholarship you must meet the following criteria:

• Be enrolled in the 2nd year or onwards of a Bachelor of Arts degree majoring in Classics and Ancient History at the University of Newcastle
• Be enrolled full-time.

If this documentation is not provided your application will not be processed.

After you have submitted your application, please print off the cover sheet provided and attach a copy of each piece of required documentation to it before sending in.

Provide a written statement (1-2 pages) outlining your motivation for undertaking Classical Studies and future goals along with how the scholarship would assist in your studies and career aspirations

Selection

Selection of the scholar will be on the basis of:

<p>* academic merit, namely at least a Credit average (65%) in 1st year

<p>* a written statement (1-2 pages) outlining the applicants motivation for undertaking Classical Studies and future goals along with how the scholarship would assist in their studies and career aspirations

<p>* performance at interview (if required)
