Establishment

This scholarship was established to recognise John Broughton's 24 years of service and contribution to the University of Newcastle Union (UNU) and the University of Newcastle.

Eligibility

To be eligible to apply for this scholarship you must meet the following criteria:

• Be enrolled in any degree program at the University of Newcastle

Required Documentation

If this documentation is not provided your application will not be processed.

After you have submitted your application, please print off the cover sheet provided and attach a copy of each piece of required documentation to it before sending in.

• A written submission (no more than 3 pages, including a summary in chronological order on the front page) that demonstrates outstanding volunteer work and leadership qualities in community or University projects or programs

Benefit

The scholarship provides a benefit of $2000 for one year to be paid in a lump sum payment.

Selection

Selection of the scholar will be on the basis of a written submission (no more than 3 pages and including a summary in chronological order on front page) demonstrating outstanding volunteer work and exhibiting leadership qualities in community or University projects or programs. Interviews will be conducted if required.
