Hunter Valley Law Society Undergraduate Scholarship
This scholarship was established by the Hunter Valley Law Society to encourage students enrolled in their final year of study in Legal Practice at the University of Newcastle to practice law within the Hunter Valley Region.
To be eligible to apply for this scholarship you must meet the following criteria:
- Be enrolled in the Bachelor of Laws/Diploma of Legal Practice degree undertaking the professional program component of the program with the intention of practising law
- Be enrolled in the final year of their program
- Be enrolled full-time.
- Be an Australian Citizen or Be a Permanent Resident
If this documentation is not provided your application will not be processed.
After you have submitted your application, please print off the cover sheet provided and attach a copy of each piece of required documentation to it before sending in.
- A written statement detailing your educational history, personal achievements and accomplishments, motivation, communication skills, extracurricular activities and career aspirations on graduation and in the longer term

Selection of the scholar will be on the basis of academic merit, a written statement and commitment to the program. Preference will be given to students wishing to practice law within the Hunter Valley Region. The written statement of the applicant should outline their motivation, communication skills, relevant interests and career aspirations on graduation and in the longer term for their chosen discipline/degree. The statement should also indicate their intention to practice law within the Hunter Valley Region.
