EstablishmentThis scholarship was established to benefit a student who is interested in the study and application of Science and Professional Communication. The duration of the scholarship is for 20 weeks (One Semester).

Applicable to: Mentors,Domestic students, International Students, Science, IT, Engineering, Education, SCIT2100.

Eligibility

To be eligible to apply for this scholarship you must meet the following criteria:

  • Be a current student of the University of Newcastle in any program.

    Preference will be given to students from Science and Information Technology, Engineering and Built Environment, and Education and Arts Faculties.

  • Be enrolled in, or be prepared to enrol in, the online course SCIT2100

  • This is a full time scholarship. Applicants must be prepared to commit approximately 35 hours to scholarship activities per week for the duration of the scholarship
  • Be the holder of a current driver's licence
  • Be willing to travel
  • Be able to communicate clearly in English in both written and spoken forms.
  • Must be willing to, or already have passed a NSW Working with Children check

Benefit

There will be up to four (4) scholarships offered in 2014.

The scholarship provides the benefit of a total of $9,000. This will be paid in fortnightly installments of $800 for 20 weeks, and one lump sum contribution of $1000 toward course costs. This lump sum will be paid after the semester census date .

Selection

Selection of the scholar will be on the basis of academic merit, as well as assessment of the required written statement and resume/CV.

This scholarship involves a full-time commitment for the duration of the scholarship. An interview may be required to determine applicant suitability.
