What is WARP Level One?

Level One provides access to research data for the general public. Any person may search for research active staff by clicking on the Search Research Expertise link and then entering either a keyword or researcher's name.

The research data supplied in each report includes:

Search by keyword

You can find individuals based on their research activity. Enter a keyword that relates to a researcher's area of expertise, for example, asthma. Click Search.

A list of reports meeting the criteria entered will then appear. Those most relevant to your query will be listed first. Click on the required link for the more detailed report.

You can also search by phrase to reduce the number of matches you find. For example, entering "bowel cancer" (including the double quote marks) will find results containing that specific phrase. Entering just the words bowel cancer will find results containing both or one of the words entered.

Note: using Uppercase in the search criteria indicates you want an exact match and may limit your results for keywords.

Search by name of researcher

You can find individuals by entering their name. Enter the researcher's entire name or part of the name. Click Search.

A list of reports meeting the criteria entered will then appear. Those most relevant to your query will be listed first. Click on the required link for the more detailed report.

Similar to the keyword search, the more specific you are with the criteria you enter, the less matches you find. For example, entering John will return occurrences of John as either a researcher's first name as well as the surnames Johns, Johnson etc. If you are sure of a researcher's name, you should enter it as, for example, "William Smith" (including the double quote marks).

Note: using Uppercase in the search criteria indicates you want an exact match. It would be appropriate to enter a researcher's name using Title Case, to limit your results.
