Human Research Ethics Committee - The University of Newcastle

There is no set closing date for applications eligible for Expedited Review Level 1 (L1) or Expedited Review Level 2 (L2), Registrations of HNEHREC approvals, or Applications for Variations to approved research.  The applications will be reviewed as and when they are received. 

The time taken to review and respond to applications will depend on the number of applications received.  However, the aim is to provide a response in the following timeframes:

L1:  7 to 14 days

L2:  2 to 4 weeks

 

These applications require full review by the Human Research Ethics Committee and are to be submitted by the last working day of the month preceding each meeting.  The projected time for the Committee's decision to be communicated to the applicant is within 10 working days.
