ARC Progress and Financial Reporting (Activities for the Year 2007)

Progress Reports
If you have an ARC grant that received funding in 2007 and will receive funding in 2008 (either the project was originally funded for 2007 or you have an extension or carry over of funding from 2006), you will need to complete a Progress Report (Progress Report proforma).

The Research Office will require 2 paper copies and 1 RTF or PDF copy of your Progress Report by 5.00 pm Wednesday 16 January 2008. Please e-mail the electronic copy of your report to Neroli Finlay. The electronic copy does not need the signature page completed.

Note that Progress Reports that are received after Wednesday 16 January may not be able to be sent to the ARC before their deadline.

Carry Over
If you have any funds unspent from 2007 you will need to carry these funds over into 2008. The ARC will require a justification to be submitted for approval. You will need to include the same information in your Progress Report (at Question 3.4). Therefore please provide us with your Progress Report and your Carry Over justification form at the same time.

If you have funds to carry over into 2008 you will be contacted by Joanna Tang from the Finance Division in the week commencing 7 January 2008. You will be required to complete a Carry Over justification form - Discovery Projects (Word - PDF), Linkage Projects (Word - PDF), or LIEF Projects (Word - PDF). If required please forward this form to Neroli Finlay at the same time as your Progress Report.

All Carry Over amounts will be sent to the ARC to approve. A code is used to classify the reasons for the carry over, and these are listed on the justification form that you will complete. In addition to the code the ARC requires a more detailed explanation of:

a requested carryover in excess of 75% of the total ARC funding for 2007 and/or:
any remaining unspent funds carried over from a previous year that was not spend in 2007.

Unless you hear from the Research Office requesting more information you should assume that your Carry Over request has been approved.
