Centre for Special Education and Disability Studies

This Centre draws upon the expertise of the existing Special Education Centre at the Callaghan Campus and Renwick College Campus at the Royal Institute for Deaf and Blind Children at North Rocks, Sydney. The main research focus of the Centre's Callaghan location includes the special education areas of learning difficulties, behavioural and emotional difficulties and developmental disabilities, as well as early intervention, inclusion and adult with disabilities. At the Renwick site the emphasis is on sensory disabilities including hearing and vision as well as multiple sensory disabilities. The research emphasis of the Centre takes a lifelong perspective to special education and disability studies, from early childhood intervention through to adults with disabilities.
