Cooperative Research Centre - Mining

The CRC mining is a Commonwealth centre funded to bring together researchers from a range of disciplines, mining companies, and mining supply companies to develop smarting mining equipment and systems. The objectives are to bring together expertise in mechanisms, geological systems, sensors, systems, and information handling to improve mining operations by:

reducing the economic and personal risks in mining;
improving equipment performance and asset utilisation;
reducing environmental impacts of mining;
developing new mining equipment where appropriate.

The CRC-Mining with lead site at the University of Queensland has a node at
the University of Newcastle attached to the School of Electrical
Engineering and Computer Science, with particular expertise is electrical
systems, and signal processing.
