(Kathy Mee, Pauline McGuirk, Tanya Judd)

The project involves collaboration between CURS researchers and the NSW Department of Premier and Cabinet, Central Coast. The research investigates the impacts of development on the complex socio-cultural mosaic of neighbourhoods within the Central Coast. The initial stages of the project involve 4 research reports drawing on the rich socio-spatial data available on the region.

  • Report 1: Demographic Overview of the Central Coast
Explores regional socio-demographic differentiation at the LGA, SLA and Collector  District scales.

  • Report 2: Identifying issues of concern in the Central Coast
Explores key population distributions in relation to service provision and potential areas of concern.

  • Report 3: Identifying intervention points in the Central Coast
Explores the patterns of co-location between an array of socio-demographic factors and considers potential points of government intervention.

  • Report 4: Travel Flows around the Central Coast
Explores travel patterns of Central Coast residents for shopping, work, education and leisure purposes.
