Welcome to the Institute of Advanced Study for Humanity
Established in 2007, the Institute of Advanced Study is one of Australia's youngest and most dynamic research facilities with a fast growing reputation for rigour and innovation in the humanities and social sciences. The Institute aims to create a brighter future for humanity through interdisciplinary research on pertinent social, intellectual and cultural issues. Its researchers commit to highest quality scholarship, combining the highest standards of research rigour and conceptualization with a contextual understanding of policy and applied issues. IASH research will concentrate on burgeoning and emerging policy agendas particularly in relation to social inclusion and social justice.
Its fellowship programme will bring together leading academics from institutions around the world. Its symposium will provide an international platform for discussion in the humanities and social sciences. Our core faculty are engaged in interdisciplinary research on topical issues, in dialogue with the wider intellectual community and with practitioners.
