Evaluation is an integral part of the Rainbow Readers program. It encourages us to reflect on our practice, to modify what we do and to ensure that we really are making a difference.
In evaluating this program, The Family Action Centre has interviewed both the families and volunteers who participated in the program. The results of these interviews have shown that the program has made a significant difference in the lives of the children, families and communities that have been involved.
"I have absolutely noticed a change in the children. Every child who has been involved has improved in some way, shape or form. It could be that their reading skills have improved, or that their speech has improved, or they can sit still for longer. Every child has progressed in some area over the time they have been involved in Rainbow Readers" From interview with a Rainbow Reader
