Do you know a family caring for a child with a rare health condition who could benefit from a family holiday, help attending medical appointment and meeting other families in a similar situation?
Yes? Please consider referring them to the SNUG Program
What’s involved? Lots of fun! Families get to enjoy the facilities at Myuna Bay Sport and Recreation Centre (e.g. canoeing, archery, rock climbing) as well as lots of other activities suitable for children with special needs and siblings too.  Families also get to meet other families with children with special needs.
What does SNUG Provide? SNUG provides lodge style accommodation, meals, and activities, as well as helping families organise and attend appropriate medical appointments while they are in Newcastle.  SNUG also has trained volunteers to help make having a family holiday easier.
Families eligible to attend are;

• Caring for a child or children with a rare health condition
• Experiencing a lack of supportive personal social networks
• Experiencing difficulty accessing medical, dental or allied health resources and services
• Having difficulty accessing or coordinating family holidays

Where is it being held? 

The camps are currently held at Myuna Bay Sport and Recreation Centre on the shores of Lake Macquarie, a short drive south of Newcastle.  http://www.dsr.nsw.gov.au/myunabay/
What will it cost?  SNUG provides meals and lodge type accommodation with common meal and recreational areas and private bedrooms and bathrooms.  SNUG also provides activities, and volunteers to assist families.  Costs to families will include return travel from home to Myuna Bay.
