Conferences at the Family Action Centre

The Family Action Centre organises numerous conferences, workshops and training.

Our most recent conference was the 2nd Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Family and Community Strengths Conference.

This conference was organised as a response to the huge success of the inaugural Indigenous Family and Community Strengths Conference, which was held in collaboration with the 5th Family and Communith Strengths Conference. Important notice: 6th Working With Boys, Building Fine Men Conference

The Family Action centre has decided not to proceed with the 6th Working with Boys, Building Fine Men Conference, originally scheduled for July 2010.

This decision was based on changed government priorities for initiatives in schools and the resulting lack of professional development funds directed towards boys' education.

The general climate created by the global financial crisis has influenced some of these factors, so we have regretfully made the decision to postpone this event. We apologise for any inconvenience this decision may have caused.

The Family Action Centre will continue to support schools in this important work through our research, our web-based and hard-copy resources and our on-line and distance courses (see Study With Us). We will consider hosting another event in the future if circumstances change, so please stay posted to our web site or contact the Family Action Centre to continue to receive further information about boys in schools.
