Professor George Hadjisophocleous, Industrial Research Chair, Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Carleton University, Ottawa, Canada has overviewed the fire-related research conducted by his group at Carleton University; in particular, he has concentrated on the developments of design fires for commercial occupancies. Professor Hadjisophocleous has also covered his atrium smoke management systems, and has described his large-scale fire-research facility collocated with that of the National Research Council Canada.
