Mammalian oocytes are prone to chromosome segregation errors, especially in meiosis I. It has been reported that weakened molecular bonds between chromosomes (made up of cohesin proteins) contributes to theses errors as females age. My project focuses on the function and dynamics of cohesin proteins as female mice age. These studies utilise confocal and time-lapse microscopy.
