Hereditary polyneuropathy is not thought to have an inflammatory component. In this study we demonstrate that antibodies develop over time which justifies the use of immunosuppressants which have anecdotally shown to have had a positive effect on the disease.

This study examined a very important question for women with MS as this disease affects mainly women in child bearing age. It was the first prospective study addressing this issue. The results of this study assure women with MS that a pregnancy will not worsen the overall outcome of their disease.

First study to show that beta-interferon has an effect on progressive multiple sclerosis. This is extremely important as this is the only treatment that we can offer to people with multiple sclerosis once they enter in the progressive phase.

Cognitive deficits in multiple sclerosis are the most underrated symptoms. They are not only scarcely assessed but also little can be done to improve cognitive function despite the fact that they are the most common reason for disability and early retirement. In this study we have shown that with a computer based training session cognitive functions actually can improve.
