Technology: Design and Construction
E-Business Adoption
The project aim is to develop a greater awareness in the construction industry of the value of e-business to organisations and to increase participation in various e-business technologies. The research objective is to develop an SME e-business technology adoption profile specifically for construction industry players.
Critical success factors for ICT mediated supply chains
This project surfaced the issues that were judged to be of critical importance to the successful use of ICT across construction project supply chains. By taking a multidisciplinary approach it was possible to produce a set of diagnostic tools and best practice guidance for each set of users, namely clients, head contractors, subcontractors/suppliers, and consultants. The project also spawned a book containing an overview of the research and the most significant outcomes.
Emerging ICT trends in construction project teams
This project recognises the rapid advances being made in both technology and organisational capability, seeking to identify emerging trends and cutting edge practices. The output from this ongoing project is to produce an action plan for adoption by several professional institutes that will drive both research and practice in the coming years.
