    Research Topic

Behaviour of Blended Waste Materials for Land Reclamation for Port Extension

    Research Abstract

This research is aimed to study on geotechnical characterization of blended industrial wastes (i.e. coal wash and steel furnace slag) to be used as a structural fill for land reclamation in Port Kembla. This study can benefit industry by reducing construction costs using waste materials instead of conventional fill materials from quarries as well as environmental issues related to industrial waste landfills. The effect of particle breakage in the shear behaviour of blended waste material is considered to develop a constitutive model for blended waste materials.
