Research Topic
Behaviour of geocell reinforced Sub-ballast during cyclic loading
Research Abstract
This research is aimed to study the performance of subballast in reinforced condition. Employing geocell as reinforcement will lead to increasing of sub-ballast confinement and remarkable improvement of sub-ballast performance. By reinforcing sub-ballast using geocell, this research aims to increase number of load cycle, thereby using train with higher speed. Furthermore, ballast performance will be improved through sub-ballast reinforcement, which in turn reduces tamping time and cost of maintenance.
