Application of Fracture Mechanics for qualifying particle breakage under Impact Loads
Research Abstract
This project would develop the constitutive model based on fracture mechanics for rock aggregate assembly in order to predict the stability and its overall behaviour under high impact load caused by trains. It involves the impact experiments in the laboratory by employing the high-capacity drop-weight impact testing equipment at University of Wollongong, which is currently the largest in Australia.
