Research Topic
Cyclic loading effects on the behaviour of compacted coalwash under dry and saturated conditions
Research Abstract
This research is focused to study on stress-strain behavior of compacted coalwash under cyclic loading and to assess its suitability to be used as a structural fill for land reclamation in Port Kembla. This study can benefit industry by reducing project costs by using waste materials instead of conventional quarry run fill materials. Resilient and residual strain at different stress level at the port loading environment is being studied. Besides the strain behaviour, degradation of granular material due to cyclic loading and its influence on the strain behaviour will be modelled.
