Associate Professor Chris Levi
Christopher Levi is conjoint Associate Professor of Medicine, University of Newcastle, Director of Acute Stroke Services, John Hunter Hospital and Medical Director, National Stroke Foundation. An academic stroke neurologist (full-time senior staff specialist) his research work is in the fields of acute stroke imaging, stroke therapy trials, genetic epidemology and implementation and evaluation of improved systems of care for stroke. He sat on the writing committee for 2007 National Stategic Improvement Framework for Heart Stroke and Vascular Disease and the Writing Committee for 2007 National Stroke Foundation, Acute Stroke Care Guidelines. He is a member of the NSW Department of Health Physicians taskforce, lead clinician in the NSW Rural Stroke Unit Project evaluating the implementation and impact of new rural models of organsied stroke care.
