This provides seamless access to resources and secure communication by removing most of the roadblocks to collaboration and sharing at both the institutional and end user levels.
ac3 Australian Centre for Advanced Computing and Communications ac3 provides professional management of computing infrastructure, housed in ac3's secure and reliable data centres.
AeRIC Australian eResearch Infrastructure Council The Australian eResearch Infrastructure Council was established by the government following the recommendation of the NCRIS committee in accepting the NCRIS Investment Plan for Platforms for Collaboration
AMMRF Australian Microscopy & MicroAnalysis Research Facility The AMMRF is a national grid of equipment, instrumentation and expertise in microscopy and microanalysis that provides nanostructural characterisation capability and services, including widely used optical, electron, X-ray and ion-beam techniques and world-leading flagship platforms.
AARNet Australia's Academic and Research Network AARNet Pty Ltd (APL) is the company that operates Australia's Academic and Research Network (AARNet). It is a not-for-profit company limited by shares. The shareholders are 38 Australian Universities and the CSIRO.
ANDS Australian National Data Service The development of ANDS is intended to provide the essential meeting place where the Australian path forward for research data management can evolve and where a vision can be achieved.
ANSTO Australian Nuclear Science and Technology Organisation It is ANSTO's strategic priority to deliver world-class research and innovation in nuclear science and technology.
APAC Australian Partnership for Advanced Computing Australian Partnership for Advanced Computing (APAC) was established to lead the development of an Australia-wide advanced computing infrastructure supported by coordinated programs in research, education and technology diffusion. In 2007 APAC was replaced with the National Computational Infrastructure.
ARC Australian Research Council The ARC is a statutory authority within the Australian Government's Innovation, Industry, Science and Research (IISR) portfolio. Its mission is to deliver policy and programs that advance Australian research and innovation globally and benefit the community.
ARCS Australian Research Collaboration Service The Australian Research Collaboration Service (ARCS) provides the research community with world-class tools and services that advance their research capabilities.
ARDC Australian Research Data Commons The Australian Research Data Commons (ARDC) will support the discovery of, and access to, research data held in Australian universities, publicly funded research agencies and government organisations for the use of research.
ASRB Australian Schizophrenia Research Bank The initial task of the Australian Schizophrenia Research Bank is to recruit 2,000 people with schizophrenia and 2,000 healthy controls, and to record their medical and family histories, genetic profiles, and possibly a brain scan. Participants are also able to volunteer to be contacted for future research projects.

The scheme enables higher education researchers to participate in cooperative initiatives so that expensive infrastructure, equipment and facilities can be shared between higher education organisations and also with industry.

NeAT National eResearch Architecture Taskforce The National eResearch Architecture Taskforce (NeAT) is a committee of experts established under the NCRIS Platforms for Collaboration capability to develop and assist in the adoption of new eResearch methods and tools. NeAT is tasked with identifying opportunities to develop and implement e-Research methods, tools and services, and embedding these into research communities.
NeCTAR National eResearch Collaboration Tools and Resources The primary objectives of the NeCTAR project are:
  1. to enhance research collaboration and research outcomes by providing Information and Communication Technology (ICT) infrastructure that creates new information centric research capabilities;
  2. to significantly simplify the combining of instruments, data, computing, and analysis applications; and
