DVC (Research and Innovation) Initiative to support external ARC/NHMRC Fellowship applicants
To ensure that we can attract high calibre external applicants in coming ARC and NHMRC Fellowships, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research & Innovation) is providing central funding to enable our Faculties to coordinate and support visits by excellent external early to mid-career researchers to the University of Newcastle with the view of developing a high-quality application for submission.
In line with the NeW Directions Research and Innovation Plan, which places an emphasis on building the next generation of research leaders at the University of Newcastle, this initiative is available in 2013 for Faculties to attract suitable external applicants for the following schemes:
- ARC Future Fellowships
- ARC Discovery Early Career Researcher Awards (DECRAs)
- NHMRC Career Development Fellowships
- NHMRC Early Career Fellowships
Under this initiative, Faculties are invited to apply for up to $6,000 per international external applicant and $3,000 per domestic external applicant.
There is an expectation that the Faculties will work closely with the applicant in all aspects of proposal development, including the facilitation of a rigorous peer review of the application.
Faculties will also be asked to provide a final report on the use of the funding, including advice on whether a proposal proceeded to submission.
HOW TO APPLY
When an applicant is identified, a completed Application Form, including signatures should be sent to Kylie Hugo via email
Should you require any further information, please contact Kylie Hugo via email.
