Each year innovative researchers at UON are celebrated for their successful community and industry collaboration, and commercialisation success.

Hosted by Newcastle Innovation since 2009, these awards give UON the opportunity to thank our supporters and celebrate the innovation that’s made the Hunter a true leader across a range of fields of expertise.

In 2016, a new award was introduced; the Chancellor’s Award for Research Innovation. This award provides $10 000 to a University of Newcastle researcher or team who have made a discovery or innovation which potentially leads to a commercial outcome.
