The Centre for the Study of Research Training and Impact (SORTI) invites you to the inaugural Doctoral Education, Learning and Assessment Conference.
DEAL 2017 is an ideal opportunity for you to gain knowledge of new directions for the doctorate with the recently released review of research training in Australia. Drawing together sustained empirical work and examining innovative future-oriented trajectories, the conference has the potential to inform policy, industry and doctoral research directions.
This conference will bring together influential representatives from tertiary education institutions, Federal and State Government, key research leaders, industry and higher degree research students.

The Keynote Address and Public Lecture will be presented by Professor Helene Marsh. Helene is a Distinguished Professor of Environmental Science and the Dean of Graduate Research Studies at James Cook University. Helene is a Fellow of both the Australian Academies of Science and Technological Sciences and Engineering and has received several international awards for her research. She currently chairs the national Threatened Species Scientific Committee.
